Hi guys,

We have been building a framework called UniWand that enables controlling Away3D content using smartphones as Wii like controllers. It can be used in product showcases, e-learning and model inspection in tools like Prefab3D.

Checkout this video to see the 3D ModelViewer in Action : http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=xSEfbkml5WA&vq=large

You can try out the beta version from this location : http://app.uniwand.info

The other useful features that it can enable are:
- ActionScript APIs to emulate gamepads (with latency < 20ms) on a smartphone.
- Second screen for online videos (similar to that of YouTube)
- Tablet companion apps for e-learning content.

We’re curious to know your opinions and queries. Hope you’d like it!

Thanks!

Looks fantastic! You really got me right at the end when you held the phone in the fashion of the object (which just happened to be a gun but could have been a steering wheel or what ever). Respect for this great idea. If you can take it to the next level you’re on a real winner.

We’re glad you liked it! Actually we do have a demo with a simple racing game, and an FPS game where we use the “Gun” to shoot, as well as navigate the 3D arena. : http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=XFcH1Rm8Doc&vq=large

We haven’t put up these samples up there yet. But, the model viewer and few other samples are there in the current SDK samples list.

We’d be happy to help you in getting the SDK working for your applications. Let us know if you need any additional features or feature enhancements.

It’s cool idea to create and convert it into 3D models and modules so that it will look more attractive and more responsive. I love the core of this discussion.
