Hi William, how far have you gotten? Have you been able to load anything from 3Ds Max into Away3D yet?

hi yohann, Ty for replying.
Yes, I have. I just follow the procedure provided by Away3D 4.0 example source. What I want to know is that how to load them and display them at the bottom stage where I can select, then drag and drop it into the scene directly??? Do you know it? So, I haven’t put them onto the scene yet. It needs user interaction to drag and drop the object. So when the user drop it, the object would be placed onto scene.

So, something like this?

If so, you will want to work with the 3d mouse events [see: http://away3d.com/tutorials/Introduction_to_Mouse_Picking ] (for mouse down, mouse move and mouse up events), and you will want to do a RaycastPicker [see: ]http://away3d.com/livedocs/away3d/4.1Alpha/away3d/core/pick/RaycastPicker.html] (to see, where in the 3D you placed the object… I would raycast test against a plane as a ground, where things will sit once you drag them there), then, it is just as simple as placing the dragging object to that given ‘picked’ location. That is one way to do it, that comes to mind.
