Hi guys, Im new here, and Im new to Away3D.

What I want to do, is to use all of the GPU goodness of Molehill and to implement it to a 2D game Im developing, for that purpose I want to use Away3D in order to render some “sprites”.

Is this possible?, or even efficient?

I took a look at M2D, but the site seems outdated.

Thanks in advance!

Of course it’s possible for some cases. But as far as I know, in FP11 2D performance has also seriously improved. For 2D game (especially with lots of sprites) the simplest and fastest way would be Sprite instead of Sprite3D.

But.. if thas true, then whats the meaning of M2D, ND2D, etc ?

I thought that the Sprite class in FP11 doenst use Molehill.

Correct me if Im wrong.

Actually, there is a test comparing a lot of sprites running with ND2D versus the same sprites running using the CPU, both using FP11.

I just mean that for 2D game it’s better to use 2D rendering framework ;3 (like ND2D, for example).
