WARNING!!!!

Absolutely NOTHING created with Away3D works with the new release, DO NOT install yet, if you want to be able to see your content.

The Matrix3D has been changed, pretty major difference by the looks of it!

Cheers

The Git repo has been updated.
Away and awayPhysics both work with the release Candidate.

Wahay!

Nice one chaps smile

Would I be right in thinking we just need to recompile with the latest playerglobal.swc and Away 4 version?

yes.
I just updated the git away and away physics, used the new playerglobal, and the awayphysics swc with the latest flash player release.
Everything working.

Will content published to target this prompt an update for those without it installed?

If the user has f10 they will be offered an update when their machine starts up. Other than that, the usual form is to detect in javascript, giving you control over what should happen. For example if they’re on an iPad, you will want to offer alternative content or a link to an app on iStore, etc.
If you detector was flash, you would never get to test version on iOS devices.

Just tried it on a machine with FP10.3 installed… Doesn’t prompt for install, just a blank screen…

Will this come with the ‘proper’ stable release or is this to do with the swfobject.js file?

Hey Mr. Scratcher,

I think that is a good question to make to Adobe =)

Logic says that they will probably do that, but no harm asking right? It’s probably a last step process…

Yeah, i would have thought so, then again, the new stuff in FP11 is amazing enough that people will actually want to install it in order to try out the new content, rather than just some slight updates in stability ect that a lot of people won’t bother with..

“There is a new version of Flash, install it now? Click here to Update.”
Meh…

“This release increases stability and useability. Click here to Update.”
Meh..

“This release fixes some crucial security issues.Your computer might be at risk unless you install the update. Click here to Update.”
Meh..

“With this release you can shoot 3D zombies and drive a ferrari. Click here to Update.”
SWEEET! *Click*
