Hello,

In 2010 and 2011 a total of 5 books were published around Away3d.

In 2012 not one book was published.
For 2013 nothing is announced any of the publishers and that despite the release of a major version.

This is often a sign that a techno is being replaced or is loosing its appeal.

I much prefer Away3D to Unity as I feel I have more control with Away3D but if the community or interest is shrinking then I am concerned about what it means for the engine’s future and what other skills should be considered taking on.

Curious about your thoughts are on the topic?

It takes a long time to publish a book. I think you’ll find the lack of books is more a sign that Away3D is developing so fast that any book being published would be obsolete before it made it onto amazon. Give it some time. Now that the format and structure are stable, I’m sure publishers will be interested, if they aren’t already planning book releases.

Cheers!
