Want to see how realistic an environment you can create with Away3D?
Check out this project

Definitely one for the gallery…

Oh, and they seem to have realtime reflections. How’s that done then?

Transparent plane with walls cloned and flipped underneath.
At least thats how I would go.
Took me far too long to figure out how to walk :/

I was about 12 months old, how about you?

Seriously, took me a while too, and I would have preferred a more doom-like navigation. This dungeon is crying out for some monsters.

What struck me most was the sheer perfection of the texture baking.
The flashers site is funny as well.

Speaking of inspiration, would you guys know where I could find a gallery as cool as the one on the homepage of away3d. Those transitions are sick!
Took me ages to figure out how to walk in that above example too. Dam nice gallery though. Seems a little jerky at points when transitioning, I’m guessing its rounding values as it’s transitioning…

I came across this yesterday smile

The answer to the reflections question is already given by John.
Transparent floor, flipped walls an some bitmapdata work on imported textures (gradients etc).

The “sheer perfection” comes from mental ray (3dsmax) and some good knowledge on light - i came from photography smile

I would definitely agree with your notices on “walking”. It would be nice to continue this project and upgrade the gallery to a next level. But currently, as you may know, we suffer from “fund shortage” here in Greece.

Thanks for the mention atom!
