best polycount for models

Hi,

before starting modeling I would like to know if you already have any experience with polygon count for single objects? Any recomendations for an ego shooter? What about a birds view (sim city) like game? 6k would be ok for a car (racing game) ?

Always use lowest possible, aldo we can render up to 1-2m. poly’s.
But 6k for one car shouldn’t be any problem.

And how many poly’s would you recommend for a player model in a multiplayer shooter?

breakone, i donĀ“t get you.
My question is meant for people experienced in gamedev and doing first steps with away 4.0 . This is not meant to be answered by the away team. thx though Ringo.
