Away physics swc trouble

Software: Away3D 4.x

For some reason, I can’t access any of the classes that should be in the awayphysics.swc library (all awayphysics imports fail).

I’m using flash builder 4.6, and I have added the swc to the library path of the physics examples project. The away3dCore.swc (one I compiled myself) works fine.

Nobody else is having this issue?

The setup is pretty simple:
1. Get example project
2. Add core and physics swc dependencies
3. Compile with Flex 4.6 / fp11

If I’m missing something, please let me know!

One of the other forum members helped me figure it out.

The problem was that I hadn’t referenced the AwayPhysics project.

Another solution is to copy the awayphysics source into your project. Kind of messy, but it works if you’re using something like FDT free that doesn’t support project linking.

It can be a little confusing, you have a .swc which hold the physic alchemy part and the away physics source files (which tied the alchemy part and Away3d together).

What you can do is make a swc yourself from the source files and drop both in the lib folder of FDT. But linking should work as well, aldo I am not a huge fan of that since it could later break the project once you update the linked resource externally.

Good luck with it.

Cheers,
Ringo.

It’s extremely confusing at first. My solution was to put the AwayPhysics.swc and “awayphysics” next to each other in your project src folder. Then point your project to include the SWC and everything should work.
