Best way to create text?

I’m not sure what the best way is, but I guess your options are:
- overlay 2D vector text
- redraw text into a 3D sprite (billboard) - which doesn’t make much sense
- redraw text into a 3D plane, meaning that it can be rotated but still flat
- construct 10 geometries, one representing each number and administer which one is shown, considering letter spacing etc…

Not sure if there are other options…

Nice idea for redraw text into 3D plane, I will be appreciate to see how this can be done.

I have a though on “masking” region similar to DateSpinner component in Flex 4.6 which only masking region is visible. Is it possible to see this feature in Away3D especially some games will need masking to create interesting effect.

Will Text3D be implement in beta release?
