Papervision 3D versus Away3D under FlashPlayer 18 / Adobe Air 18

Hello guys,

i don’t understand why Papervision3D 2.x is very faster than Away3D 4.x?

And Papervision has not problem with multi view3Ds and Away3D won’t show if i start Adobe Air App than it shows same error or last view.

if pv is faster than away4, you probably run in software mode, and not on the gpu. If gpu would be enabled, you’d run hundred of thousand of polys faster than any cpu based engine made during the flash 9/10 era.
you probably have not defined your manifest the way it should.

Hello @Fabrice Closier,

you are right. I want to know like Starling Frameworks should to switch render with direct support.

If i use Papervision 3D than i change to better performance like Starling Frameworks

forget about PV3D, it’s an old cpu api. You can add whatever tag in xml nothing gonna help performance. PV was dev for flash 9 and 10. This engine, like away3d 1,2 and 3 draws on screen using sprites.

Starling, M2d, Away3d, any Stage3D based api will run on the GPU.
So you have no choice but update your code to Away4 or another as3 3d engine such as Zest 3d, Minko, Flare3D…
