Is very usfull if you object have many parts like car … keep in mind awd set all object to 0.0.0 on pivot point at start; you have to move all objects to the right place, more easy if you know good coordinate.

I think john is right.

i think you shouldnt need to move anything at all or remember some coordinates to place the gunshot. in 3ds-max you could just insert an empty ObjectContainer3D (dont know whats the 3ds-max equivalent called) at the place of the gun, and read out its position in away3d.

i can only hope thats this is true for the 3ds-max exporter (i dont have 3ds-max), but its definitiv what the awd2 file format is capeable of.
