Exciting news! The project I have worked on for the past 14 months is finally released!

Some notes: Loading bar currently ‘hangs’ on 20%, if you wait long enough it will complete. Average loading time is 4-5 mins if your internet is crap.

Also, I wanted to underline that everything you see I have made myself. Coding, 3D modeling, texturing, physics, First person stuff.. everything. I started 14 months ago with only flash as3 experience, but no 3D experience. The whole project was a 1-person job.

In my oppinion, this is prove that a total 3D noob can create a nice website with Away3D 4 in less than a year.

Last but not least, I want to thank everyone here for every help and support I got in the past year. Thanks!!

Btw, did you export it for Flash 10 or 11? From what I heard, I thought that if you used Away3D 4.0 you HAD to export for Flash Player 11.

One small bit of feedback: you may want to look at some of the textures/their placement. See attachment for an example of what I mean. And personally I would have made some sort of border around the TV-screen in the DJ’s studio, to give it more of a TV-feeling.

Did you work on this fulltime for 14 months, or parttime, or was it part of an internship/school project?

The TypeErrors and the UV’s will be fixed in the next version.

I exported it to Flash 11, it uses the GPU for fast rendering. I honestly don’t think I can get this performance using away 3.6
I worked on this for 7 months in an internship, the other 7 months as a freelancer to complete this project and release it.

The first 7 months were dedicated to research ‘what is the best technique for using 3D online’ and creating the 3D world where people can walk in and ‘do stuff’ as proof of concept for my thesis and graduation.

After that, we user-tested the whole concept and used their feedback in the final product.

I now have my own company as a freelancer and am going to specialize myself more in this technique to create even more of this cool stuff.
