Vehicle mirrors.
Really could do with the ability to make a view mirrored. Like scaleX *=-1 on a bitmap.
Would be handy as a filter3D.

yeah would be great for some crazy multiview effects, too.

dont know if its possible to do without rendering to bitmap…

maybe would be good to have this functionallity build in in the camera classes (like a mirror-lense or something).

dont understand the away3d rendering engine enough to know how and if you could mirror your view, but for me, a mirrored camera (if possible) would be great.

Tried using a lens and scaling its transform but the mirrored scene would become inverted. Like if you set flip faces on all objects.

+1 for this feature wink

If you could assign the output of a camera view to the bitmap channel of a material, in Molehill, (i.e.without a trip through AS3), you could do all kinds of funky reflection effects. Reversing would then be a case of inverting the UV’s.
This way you could easily make reflective floors, reflections in Windows, etc, etc. and not just on Planes, but also in the eyes of characters, polished car exteriors, you name it.

Any thoughts on this from the devs?

If its not possible, I can drop what I planned to do and move on to something else.

Been playing with procenium http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/proscenium/
which has a great reflection demo. So it can be done.

Same question.
Is this is the pipeline/roadmap, when?

As far as I know, Proscenium uses new PixelBender core.

Nope, nothing.
Asked same question a year ago on the google groups, no reply.

One hack was to create another camera/view and flip its scaleX.
That will turn the meshes inside out so you have to use doublesided material.
But thats just a view type mirror so you can only set its position width height. Ok for a simple rearview mirror.
