Well it’s no secret that Flash support kinda bad at mobile platforms and web but at the same time mobile\web gaming is on the rise and WebGL support grows pretty fast even IE most likely going to support it(works in the dev version) But it’s really hard to write something as complex as 3D-Engine on JS. For this level of complexity we can use Google Dart that’s, by the way, pretty similar to AS http://www.stagexl.org/docs/actionscript-dart.html Google looks committed and has plan to embed Dart VM to the Chromium (Chrome and Opera) it has much better performance than JS VM and for only JS browser there is Dart-to-JS compiler that going to improve especially thank to ASM.js So i have a question. Is it possible that Away3D will be ported to something like Dart? Of course it’s huge chunk of work but with Dart you can, at least, preserve most of the structure. It’s easy(but tedious) work that doesn’t require special skills. So it’s might be done by community(including Dart).
How about Dart?Software: Away3D 4.x |
