Superior number of vertices after import

Hi,

I am facing a strange issue when opening an OBJ with Prefab3D. Although the mesh is defined with 3-vertices-faces only, and does only have a single set of UV’s, its number of vertices once imported is far higher than the original model (from 4xx to 16xx).
What could explain this?

Thanks a lot
Thomas

The model was not triangulated prior export? If not its possible everything was written as quad. 4 pts for 2 faces. Also, shared indices may be of influence. You could try to Weld within Prefab.

Well the 3D guy told me it was triangulated but it probably was not… I checked the model with Blender, retriangulated the faces and recomputed the normals, look much better now.

Thanks
