The Away3D team is proud to announce the alpha release of Away3D version 4.1. This represents a major iteration of the engine, packaging great new features like multi-pass rendering, reflective materials, ATF texture support, an awesome new particle engine API, performance enhancements and more…

You can read all about the 4.1 release in this blog post.

We have also introduced a brand new wiki-style tutorials section, with many new basic and intermediate tutorials. The wiki makes it very easy for any Away3D member to produce tutorial content. We hope that this soon becomes a valuable resource for our community.

We would love to hear your feedback, so if you have any comments, please leave them in this thread.

Which physics branch we supposed to use with this?
Getting weird results with a bvhtrianglemesh and the master branch of awayPhyics

The dev branch of the phyisics lib just fails
[Fault] exception, information=Error: Error #1520: Mutex cannot be initialized.

hmmm, we’ve just double checked and it seems to be working ok. Are you using the dev branch both in Away3D and in AwayPhysics?

Oh, and you need to compile for Flash Player 11.4 or higher.

Just going to test swf was using Air 3.5.

Tried both dev physics and dev away.. thats when i get the mutex error.

Well, please double check with 11.4 and, if you are still having trouble, please let us know a bit more about your error, configuration, etc. That shouldn’t be happening.

Tried both an Air and swf of the car physics demo with the dev branches and they are working fine.

But was using away Dev + awayPhysics Dev + starling + feathers on Air
was working fine before I updated.

Ill keep poking it with a stick and see what happens smile

OK its non of the above smile

Its flash develop (latest 4.2.0)

Bit weird but.. for those who use FD
Project Properties Panel, Output Tab
If you set the AIR version to 3.5 with the drop down, you get the mutex error.

Have to have it at 3.4 even though sdk is set to 3.5 and application xml is set to 3.5.

So woo yay devs wink

Adobe Air 3.7 + 3.8 (mobile)
