Have a question about getting away3d 4 up and running.
Is it possible to configure flash cs5 to compile to molehill. So you
can compile using away3d 4 and get the 3d acceleration. I would rather not have to us flash Develop when I already payed for flash cs5.

Thanks for any help : )

I use Flash CS5, but always FlashDevelop for actual AS3 editing.
I wrote a tutorial for compiling to F11 here.

Otherwise a quick google search will find others :O)

Got most of it to work.
Any ideas on how to get the embed command to work in cs5. I presume it has something to do with the flex skd path, but not sure.

[Embed(source=”/../embeds/head/Images/Map-COL.jpg”)]
private var Albedo : Class;

Any Ideas thanks again.

yes, make sure you have configured flash to point at the Flex SDK.
You’ll find the first time you compile, it will ask you to confirm the path and fail to compile, but after that it works (or atleast that’s what happens for me!)

I see the examples work .

Seems odd that you would have to confirm flex skd path when it is already inputted right.

should i update the flex skd version 4 to 5 or higher.

beyond that do you perhaps know of any of examples for loading 3ds models that work. the one in the old broomstick folder at http://away3d.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/broomstick does not actually work with the current away 3d build.

Thanks for the help.

If the only thing you’re using from Flex is the EMBED tag, any version will do

OK thanks allot.
The only problem I have now is finding examples that actually work with the current version of away3d. Since they don’t have backward compatibility with the versions and method disappear or change names.

I am trying to update a project I did in away3d 3.6 to 4.0 where a 3ds model of a building is loaded in. However since the example they provide does not work for me it is kind of hard to do.

perhaps i should wait till they update the examples.

Anyway thanks again you where allot of help.

Are you sure you have the latest versions of Away3d from Github, and the latest examples? They work for me in CS5. Remember also to update playerglobal.swc and your Flash player…

I feel kind of stupid now. I was getting examples from svn browser, when they are totally outdated.
