iPad retina environment looks worse

I’ve got a fairly simple 3d environment set up, essentially a textured globe with a few lights. I’m also using stage3DProxy so I can have a couple different view3Ds (for various reasons).

On my PC and on an older iPad it all looks great, but I’ve realised that on the iPad Retina, surprisingly, it looks worse. It looks much flatter (and brighter) but I can’t quite pinpoint the issue, whether it’s lights, texturing or just general rendering issue. I think it might be partly do with the lighting, at least, as it looks like it’s only rendering one light. Also there’s a lack of shadows and possibly no gloss. Essentially it seems to be ignoring a bunch of things, and it seems specific to the iPad retina only.

Aside from that all the usual interaction and movement works fine.

Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem?

I’ve taken another look at this problem I was having and discovered the cause is that only the first light in my StaticLightPicker array is being used. It ignores any lights listed after the first one (I’ve got four in there currently- I can move them around and it only picks up the first one).

Anyone have any idea on why not all lights are being used?

Thanks.
