Hi everybody,

Can somebody confirm that Away doesn’t support bipeds, and the only way to export animated characters is using bones?

I know about the bones-to-biped linking workaround but it doesn’t work for me because this means re-skinning the meshes.

thanks!

The Biped system is just Max’s internal Bone helper. Away supports animations exported from a Biped with Skin, either as bones or vertex animation.

I would recommend checking out the SEA3D exporter for MAX which I’ve found to give a really good workflow between MAX and Away3D, not just for animation, but also extended material support.
Otherwise I believe MD5 is still supported.

Good Luck!
