Low FPS regardless of number of players launched

I am developing on my workstation (Win 7, DX11, Nvidia Quadro 2000).

The production machine is instead another Win 7 system, DX11, with an Nvidia Quadro 600.

Now, when I launch my movie (Away3D 4.1.1, set to 60FPS) in debug mode on my development machine, I get a steady 62-55FPS. In release mode I get 100-60, when looking at Away Stats.

On the production machine, launching the movie as a projector in release mode, I get 50-33FPS.
Initially I thought it was a performance problem, but checking the CPU usage (1%), I then tried to launch 4 instances of the movie, and they all behaved pretty much the same (in fact, from the second onward the framerate’s upper limit got to reach 60FPS). Using the computer’s two screens I scaled and keps all movies visible at the same time.

Now, why would this be, and how can I fix this?
Anyone experienced something similar?
