Mouse3D position/coordinates are off when embedding SWF in HTML

My project is a mixture of 2D and 3D elements, the 3D being an away3d View3D in the middle of the 2D controls.

When publishing to a SWF there are no problems at all, but when publishing to an HTML the mouse3d position/coordinates are WAY off.
In order to click on an object within the resized View3D scene, I have to move the cursor 50 pixels or more away from the object to get the mouse to register the click.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the dis-alignment of the 3D mouse?

UPDATE:

The problem was having the View3D a child of the 2D object. In other words, the View3D should be added directly to the stage, and not as a child of something else.

HOWEVER, there still seems to be issues with Windows 8 IE browser.
