Skybox with hotspots

Hello,

I am new to Away3d, and am trying to port a project to Stage3d, but running into some troubles with Away 4.0.

We need to have a skybox with 3d elements placed in the scene, so that they rotate and distort along with the skybox, appearing to be placed on the skybox image. A problem arises with distortion of objects in that the skybox is in the background and the images in the forground, causing paralax. The objects don’t appear to be on the background.

A nasty hack which I have used is to put the objects far in the distance, and scale them up by about 100x. This achieves the desired effect, however, I have been getting the dreaded error:“Resource limit for this resource type exceeded”

Does anyone know if scaling up geometry causes the internal bitmaps to be scaled, hence blowing the memory budget. Alternativly, how can I acheve the skybox-with-hotspots effect in a more poetic manner.

I have been stuck for days, any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
Daniel
