Hi!
We have3dModel imported from 3dsMax via AWD - One skeleton, some meshes and textures.
U can se test vesrion here: http://www.test.taern.com/mapTest/ and its working quite good on most computers.
We found that in some cases imported characted disappear when we start animation. It happens on Firefox and not at all computers.
- First test subject - Clevo 150EM laptop - FireFox working in software mode. That might be drivers fault. Software mode still even with newest graphic card driver so we reported Bug (https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3501742)
- On two next computers we have Firefox using DirectX9 driver, hardware mode - when starting animation Character disappear also;/
- On mine computer flash detect DirectX9Ex driver and all is working well.

Than we checked the Onkba model from tutorial, and - this one stays on stage on ALL computers, even on Firefox in software mode. http://www.test.taern.com/defaultCharacter/
This is a little bit confusing.
We started to experiment with model preparation in 3dMax and so far we found that if we remove the ZeroBone (the one pointing the (0,0,0) point) and export model it no longer disappear. But we want that bone because it gives better animation possibility to our character and it was still working on most computers.

I also checked with antiAlias = 0 (i read topic about FireFox bug with antiAlias and GPU drivers), but it doesnt change anything.

If u have any idea, hint wat we could do to repeair that, please share it;]

[Edit]
The ZeroBone is added to animated Skeleton using “select and link” in 3ds Max

Best Regards

Yeah disapears for me too when using software mode.
Just a guess..
Try just parenting your skeleton to that zerobone.
Thats what I do in Maya (sorry dont use max) and the animation works in both software and gpu.

thanks John for a tip;].

We made some errors in 3dMax. We found them following error log from Prefab3D. If someone will have similar problem in future i highly recommend to import AWD into Prefab and get closer look to error popup:)

Best Regards
