Hello,
We are a team of computer scientists developing our senior year project in fulfillment for bachelors degree. We were handed an Android application that has been in development for 2 years; 2 years ago (2010 -> 2011) was the birth of the program where the Senior team installed out-of-date Away3D engine, and 1 year ago (2011 -> 2012) the team worked solely with server interaction.

Therefore our forest of the project is 2 years old, with no documentation. We have sifted through the files and folders to understand only one file “Away3DScene.as” outside of the engine folder is actually intereacting with the away3d folder. We cannot find a year or version of this Away3D however the licsense is copyrighted 2007. (The team that was working on it was the 2010 -> 2011 team).

Not only do we have no experience with ActionScript/FlashBuilder, but we are not familiar with Away3D. We have used this website to find tutorials, we believe these will be useful to us once we have a successful install of the new engine.

We tried to install Away3D 4.1 by swapping out old Away3D folder with new one. Of course, there are issues. Mainly, lots of imports* that do not exist anymore. For instance, we have multiple imports for many ‘materials’ (.materials.ColorMaterial; .materials.PhongColorMaterial; .materials.ShadingColorMaterial; .materials.TransformBitmapMaterial;)  and different loaders such as Collada, MAX3DS, Obj… And of course lots of issues with the Camera, Lens… etc…

We have mined the internet and the forum for anyone who has ever upgraded Away3D engines and we cannot find much.

Could someone please point us in the right direction?

Thank you for all of your help.
