Hello everyone!
I hope it is ok to post this question here.
With Away3D 4.0.9 I was able to use the particles editor ( https://github.com/liaocheng/particle_effect_editor ) to create effects and export them as XML and then import them back to away 3d by adding the editor classes. However with the new Away3D 4.1 the editor classes are completely broken (because of the integration of the particle system directly into away 3d) and it seems that the particles editor is discontinued or something like that. So I’m curious is there a new editor or did someone manage to get the old editor to work with Away3d 4.1?
Regards,
Martin

Thank you, Liaocheng, for continuing your epic work! =)
Question:
Is it possible to import old effects saved as XML into the new editor?
Thanks!
Alex

Hi
It’s not possible to import the old XML file into the new editor for two reason:
1. The new structure of the data is hugely different from the old one. It’s more reasonable and effective. The obscure form of variable in old one has been replaced by a more convenient way.
2.I guess most of you who are using the old editor have modified or extended the XML file because the old format can’t cover all of your feature requests. The new one is more powerful, which is allow you to add custom parameters and time events. I’m doing my effort to make it cover most of your requests.
So currently, the only way to port the old one into new one is to re-create manually. I think it won’t take much time to re-create a existing one ( about 10 minute I guess).
Thanks!
