texture atlas - how to set uv on primitives

Hi,

I would like to display some sort of cube, with the image on the front face switching, and the other faces just colored. I have built the cube from 6 PlaneGeometry primitives with individual materials, and have set up a texture atlas bitmap. So I would need to set the uv on that front face to range from, e.g. 3/8 to 4/8 horizontally and 7/8 to 8/8 vertically.
What is the proper way to specify the uv data initially, and then how to change them while the movie plays?
