displaying UV data

Can someone point me to some information about how UV data is structured in a SubMesh? I’m trying to display the UV map of each submesh. I just want to render the UV map to a sprite or bitmap. Preferably only the “outlines”, as that would be less confusing for my users.
Now, I thought that for each vertex, there would be UV coordinate. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. Can someone tell me, or point me to some info on how UVData, VertexData and indexData relate to eachother?
