Hey , am building an app using away 3D and flex.

And now am loading 3ds files using Loader3D .

3DS files are exported from or developed using 3DS max .

My issue is , the loaded 3DS objects in my app does not have the required quality , or is not as good as it is seen when rendered in 3DS max.

the quality is too low actually .

So any leads on how to improve the quality of the loaded 3DS files using loader3d in flex.

I have seen increasing the quality of cube developed by increasing the mesh. But this is loaded object , so no segments i guess.. not sure.
But any easy one- liner or more .. code to improve the quality .

What do you mean the quality is too low? Is the geometry not smooth? Is it perhaps the materials or the rendering that doesn’t meet your expectations? Can you post a screen shot and point out what you feel is lacking?

if you wan’t smoothing group use OBJ
if you model size is to high use this
http://3dflashlo.wordpress.com/2012/03/16/compress-3d-model-2/
obj and 3ds size/3 if you use this

me i use awd is the best: animation and link with compression
(only miss smoothing group)
when i export model i add a turbosmooth in 3dsmax
(in surface parameters check smoothing group)
that give perfect result
