ConeGeometry no top-radius and strange non-visible area?

Hi folks. Newbie to Away3D but not to 3D (20+ years of 3ds max, actually started in DOS with R3).

I have a question about the ConeGeometry parameters, they seem a bit odd to me.

Usually a cone has a bottom-radius, a top-radius and a length (and number of vertical segments since its always round). But in the ConeGeometry used in Away3D 4 there is only a bottom-radius and a height, how can i specify the top-radius?

Also there is a strange ‘black region’ of non-visible cone, please look at the attached jpeg.

Thanks for all your help!

Use the cylinder, cone just extends cylinder.

No idea on the material issue.

Thanks. So cylinder is actually cone. :D

It’s strange, there is just a ColorMaterial on it. I will try to figure out what causes it.

It might be related to an issue that we’ve found a few days ago. We are looking at this issue.
In meanwhile, the LatheExtrude class could generate this shape as well…

It has to do with the number of vertical segments as far as I can see. When there are just 2, the cone is split exactly in half and even when there are 20 segments it still doesn’t fill up right to the top.

I can do exactly what I want with the suggested CylinderGeometry, thanks!
