I can’t seem to find Zoom and Focus properties on the camera using away3d 4.0. Have these been moved somewhere else?

Give us a chance! smile

In Broomstick, assign a PerpsectiveLens to your camera and then you can adjust the Field of View. (equivalent to “zoom” in ordinary camera)

_camera.lens = new PerspectiveLens(60);

For focus effects, check out the post processing example, using Depth of Field (DOFtest.as). It rocks!

Perfect!
Knew there’d be a simple answer.
Cheers

Yes, Broomstick approaches 3D graphics in a more OpenGL way than previous versions of Away3D. The projection matrix used in the pipeline implies the zoom and focus values in the field of view value. Flash’s native 3D does so as well.

Is there a way to simulate the old zoom focus attributes?
(maybe with the freematrixlens?)

I got in Away3dLite a subtle fish eye effect that I can’t seem to get in Away3d 4.

Using the perspective lens with a large Field of View doesn’t give me the same effect.
I want to get a subtle spherical distortion on the edges of the screen.
