I upgraded my flash player now that Flash player 11 is no longer in beta. Unfortunately, this caused my debugger for flash builder to break, I get the “Flash builder cannot locate the required debugger version of flash player” shit now… Using run instead of debug works fine.

My project still has the all the left over changes that were needed to compile a flash player 11 swf, such as the playerglobal.swc, swf-version. Which stuff is necessary? Is there a new sdk that works for flash player 11? Does anyone know how to fix the debugger to use the f11 debugger on adobes website?

well I got the browser debugger working by reinstalling flash player, but if I try to debug on the desktop, it still tries to use flash player 10.2, is there any way to change what flash player it uses to debug on the desktop?

uninstall previous flash player u have .

then install flash player 11 .

this solved it for me .

Ya, that seems to have worked. I also found a new option setting that I didn’t know about before.

In Flash Builder 4.5

Windows->Preferences->FlashBuilder->Debug

There’s a field for Stand Alone Flash Player, where you can manually select the debug executable that you downloaded from adobe. I’m not sure if this is new or not in 4.5, but it gets rid of the “Flash builder cannot locate the required debugger version of flash player…” error
