I am also facing the same problem - no collision with AWPCompoundShape even I make it static and I am dropping the balls on it but all the balls just fall down.
I tried your solution but it does not work - If I give scalling of any amount then it just shows me the blank screen and if I remove the scaling then same effect - No collision no static body and just balls fall down.
I am looking for a solution - please help me out.

I’m also suffering from this. I’m working on a bowling game but bowling ball doesn’t stand on the ground when I use AWPBvhTriangleMeshShape with a custom mesh, but if I use AWPBoxShape instead, it works like a charm. I’m about to go nuts about this, I’ve been fighting with this problem for a while now and I can’t think of anything else besides what I’ve tried so far.
So any help will be appreciated deeply.
