FP10 compatibility somehow possible?

Hi,

though I suppose the answer is most likely “no”, I’ll give it a shot:

Is there any way to get Away3D 4 to work with FP10 (Software mode only of course).

I’ve had a little discussion lately it it would be possible to get a A3D 4 project as backwards compatible as possible. I understand, that this might entail a whole new set of problems (model complexity, performance optimizations etc).

Has anyone experiences with such requirement? THe only other way I could think of is build the application once using Away3D 4 and once with an older Away3D version - and that is an awful thought wink

Categorically, no, unfortunately.

Away4 was re-written from the ground up to use the GPU functionality of Flash 11. I would advise starting in Away3DLite (which uses the Flash10 features to the max) and moving to 4.0 later.
You should be able to use the same assets and logic after a bit of re-writing.
