Can anyone help me track down an issue with a certain hardware configuration?  My computer works fine with Flash 11 (Windows 7) , but another computer we have running with Ubuntu and a new Nvidia GTX460 always plays in software mode.  I’ve gone through every test I can think of, and it seems to be using the GPU just fine for everything else, but Flash 11 doesn’t seem to like it.  It’s using the latest driver from Ubuntu 11.04, which should certainly be new enough, and the card itself should be more than enough for Stage 3D.  I can’t seem to find any information online.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, Stage3D Hardware acceleration isn’t supported under Linux. It will fall to software ALWAYS :(

Wow, that’s not good!  But thanks for letting me know, so I can stop tearing my (remaining) hair out over it.

Any idea if this will change?

Stage 3D will be coming to Linux at some point (it is coming to Android after all)  I’ve heard it has a lot more to do with driver support but according to people at Adobe it will be coming eventually.
