your away3d files are in the wrong directory

copy the away3d package and put it in your src folder, same as the com.adobe.utils

the other thing you can do is go to project->properties->flex build path

select the source path tab, click add folder, browse to your folder that has away4 and select away4.

If you do everything right, you should get a new package called [source path] src with away3d package in it

no,

the top level package should be away3d

not away4.src.away3d

copy the contents of away3d4.0/src, into your own src directory, or if you use the buildpath method, select away3d4.0/src as your path,

away3d is the package name.

1. Create a new flex project

2. Redownload the away3d 4 package, extract it, obtain it somehow

3. Go to project->Properties->buildPath sourcepath tab

4. click add folder, browse to the folder and go inside to the src you downloaded

heres an example

${DOCUMENTS}\away3d-core-fp11\src

thats all you need to do
