Away3D Forum First steps withe the 3D in Flash Book

Hello my friends,
I´ve bought the 3D in Flash Book from Rob Bateman.

Unfortunately I´m getting in trouble with the first example (Chapter2).

I´ve written the MyFirstApp.as and stored it in same folder like my projekt.fla
Downloaded the Away3D src file and config the source path in Flash.
I´m writing in my projekt.fla these 3 lines of code for the simple cube:

import away3d.primitives.Cube;

var cube:Cube = new Cube();
_view.scene.addChild(cube); 

an received the following decompiling errors

E:Projekte2011Erstes Away3dProjektAWAY3Dsrcaway3dcorebaseSubGeometry.as, Zeile 158 1046: Typ doesen´t found….. Kompilierungszeit-Konstante: VertexBuffer3D.

Can anybody help me? Did I have the wrong Away3D src?

but this is not my problem and with the src you postet I have the same problem to decompile the first example of the book.

The book by Rob and Richard was written with Away 3.5 in mind.The version you have been given above is 4 .It will not work.Also the current version of “pre-stage3D” Away is also 3.6 .So you will have to make some changes to the book’s source code to work.3.5 has some major differences from 3.6 .

From your error it seems like you have not configured right Flash Player 11 and Stage3D API .

So before I buy your book
To make the examples work I have to download the Away3D 3.5 src? Okay I did but
the main Problem I have in Flash Professional CS5. When I set the document class Flash tells me that “the path can`t finde no definition for that document class” (sorry,translated from Germany )
Any hint for me?

Yes ,you need 3.5.I can’t help you with Flash.I code with Flash Builder.

well, after used the software above, I finally choose to use XFlip flash book maker to make online flash flip book, fashionable and attractive 3D flash ebooks with animations and sound!
