We are struggling with this for quite a long time, how to get png to be transparent in 4.0?

As we know, in previous versions, if we want to do an transparent model like glasses, we just use a half opacity png. But seems not the case in th lastest 4.0

And also the alpha property of the Material seems to be no more.
So how should we achieve such a thing?

I’d like to know about this too. Anything transparent in my bitmapdata becomes black. Why so?

When you create the material set

MaterialName.alphaBlending true

Thats it.

Remember you can always refer to the API documentation at

I try to help people with the little bit of what I know!

A good community makes things a lot easier.
I wish a lot more people would take a bit of their time to help someone out with something so simple.
