I am really interested in the 4.0 alpha release, but how much of the api has changed from 3.6? Does it make sense to get the cookbook? I read the first part and it talks about not using too much cpu cycles, but with Stage3D I can imagine this not being that much of a priority anymore.

Will this book teach me the wrong parts?

I found it useful.  It has some concepts about 3D math, and some other interesting ideas about how to arrange your scenes, etc.  None of the examples will work for 4.0, but it’s worth a read.

The source code from Away3D 3.6 doesn’t seem to work on version 4 because the API seems have changed. For example, the class PointLight3D doesn’t even exist anymore in version 4, so the code examples for 3.6 will get a lot of errors due to the API changes.

I am trying to learn from those books, but I can’t even get the very first code example to work in version 4. T___T
