When working with away3d, or even back when i worked with papervision3d.. I always found the exporting of 3d models to be the most difficult to wrap my head around.
Is there any good guides out there that will walk me through what you need to know in order to be confident in doing this?

Are you talking about exporting models from a 3D modeling tool for loading in Away3D, or exporting in-memory models from Away3D to some external format?

i got the same problem. seems like we need some kind of guides for helping export the models from some modeling tools (3d max, maya) for loading in Away3d.

I’d be up for contributing to a Blender workflow (2.49, at least)
I’ve yet to export an animated MD5, but I’m about to, so I could document that too…

I’m using Blender as well, and I have done MD5 stuff, so I’d be happy to write up what I know. Is there a wiki somewhere?

Aha! I’ll probably be tapping you up for some pointers very soon then! What exporter did you use?

I would appreciate a workflow as well… preserving textures is a big issue for me when exporting from Blender and importing via Away3D and it’d be nice to know solutions that work.
