SVN vs. Github repositories

Software: Away3D 3.x

I recently updated my Away3D 3.6 SVN replica and it did not detect any updates, but I just browsed the Github repository and there is an update from September 11th to Away3D\src\away3d\core\utils\Init.as in Github that isn’t present in SVN.

Are the two supposed to be synchronised, or should we switch the Github? (a pain as I have the SVN client installed for other projects).

Cheers
Mark

Hey Mark,

Yes, the svn repo is barely being maintained at the moment. We do not guarantee it being updated at any rate. The suggestion is to download sources in this site or sync to the GitHub repositories (or download the GitHub generated zips directly). GitHub may be scary at first for those who haven’t used it, but it is way superior than SVN. This is why we have adopted it for Away3D development.

Hi, I’ve tried to checkout the source using my Tortoise SVN client from github (I only want read-only), using the url supplied on the github page “https://github.com/away3d/away3d-core-fp10.git” but that is returning a HTTP 404 error. Any idea what the correct url should be?

EDIT: Fixed, for information the url changes slightly if you are using an SVN client, you need to prefix the host name with svn…
“https://svn.github.com/away3d/away3d-core-fp10.git”
