Hello,

I’ve recently given a try to Away3D 4.0 Alpha and it looks great on all games/demos I have seen so far. However the learning curve is fairly steep and more importantly I am unable to find any good tutorials for this version.

It seems a lot of things have changed between version 4.0 and the previous versions as the examples from the tutorials are based on the version 3.x .

Could you please point me to more up to date tutorials/reference material.

Thanks.

Well even the basic tutorials from http://away3d.com/tutorials/ don’t work on the new version of the library we have to work out what classes replace the ones that are not recognized by the IDE.

I don’t mind delving into the doc either but it is not yet complete so in the meantime a few working tutorials would provide great insight.

I am now getting a hang of things but I believe - and I am sure I am not the only one - updating the first 3 tutorials would make adoption of Away3D 4.0 a lot less painful that it currently is:).

Btw, are you a developer on Delta Strike? The Visuals are pretty good!

Yep, it’s currently the sole purpose of my existence. Thanks wink

Hmm .. I never had a look at any Away3D tutorials at all. I started off with the examples from the examples repository. Looking at these it’s pretty easy to get a general grasp of how to set up a scene with camera, lights and primitives, add materials and do some transformation-magic =)

I do agree with you, however, that it would actually be only little effort to migrate the 3.6 tutorials to 4.0. As I have never touched 3.6 before, I say we need a hero wink
