I’m new to away3d and 3ds.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to properly go about exporting a model with animation for use in away3d 4?

Thanks!

As the man says, it all depends on the type of animation.
If it’s figures, you’re only choice right now is MD5, but keep an eye on AWD2
(may require a trip though Maya or Blender via Collada (or other) as there is no exporter for Max)
For more mechanical stuff, a car driving for example, you would export your assets as static meshes and animate via ActionScript.

Give us some more details and you’re sure to get some advice smile

I can’t seem to find an option in 3DS to export to MD5. I’m really confused at this point, as to what I can do.

Furthermore, another question I had - what is the best way to preview my exported models in away3d?

Is there a model previewer out there somewhere that uses away3d 4/molehill?

Thanks!
