Hi,
I am using Flash CS5,and I would love to import some 3D from 3Ds Max.I found so many engines for flash, like alternativa3D,Flare3D etc.But found Away3D easy and free. But I cant find any tutorial or reference on how to setup it on Flash CS5.Everything is for Flex and FlashDevelop.
Please tell me how to setup it on FlashCS5 and export 3Ds Max meshes to it.
Please help!

As for taking models from Max to Away3D, I highly recommend this exporter for MAX:
http://www.brothersoft.com/gw—obj-exporter-182582.html

I was having trouble with the built-in obj exporter, some models working and some not (probably to do with quads, but that’s another story)

I generally apply my materials via AS3 after the model has loaded, though I know that the current OBJParser supports Material Libraries that can be exported at the same time. Otherwise your output setting should look like this:

There’s also a full source example with fla here so you can check you’re set up right.

You have to preview in browser, rather than in Flashes normal debug window.

Good Luck!

Thanks a lot! smile Away3D is simple to learn!good job with it.
Btw,Can it support multiple meshes?Like If I want to import a city (not so detailed, just squares and roofs and a little bit of detailing) with lots of meshes?
