I have been trying to figure out how to do a navigation effect like this. I assume it must be a 3d engine but am not sure.

I would say not.
Or at least, the effects you see can be achieved with Flashes built in 3D, and no small amount of skill and design. Graphics are beautiful. Great design, great execution.

Look for tutorials about parallax effects in Flash…

Thanks for your reply, that’s what i have been doing all day. Keyword searches about parallax, spatial camera , 3d engines ....blah blah blah. I;m surprised i haven’t seen anything
