Light shines through every face

Hey, when i add lights into my scene, the light shines through every face of my model. how can is top this? the walls should break the light as it is in real life you know?

i want to realize a car headlight and when i put the light on, it shine sin all directions but it should light only in front direction

Try using an alphad texture material triangle (more than 1 in an object container) pointed in the direction of the car for the light beams.

thank you for your reply .... yes of course, thats the way how to simulate the light beam, but my problem is that when i place my light source in front of the car, this light hits every single wall of my model ... the wall behind the car, too. this is not realistic, because the car normally breaks the light and it cant hit the wall behind the car, you know?
do i have to deactivate the lightpicker for those textures? this would be really unhandy and complicated ^^
